A Message from JEM
"Uncle Gil, Help me. I am scared. I had a dream of me dying....."
That was the message that we got from our nephew, Dylan, when he needed our help. His voice still remained in my heart. He asked my husband's help like this, and only one week later, he passed away. He was only 20 years old, right after he graduated from high school.
His weight was about 500 lbs, and he has been overweight since he was very young. His half-Polynesian ethnicity and genetics probably providing more weight, but his diet was also the main reason why he was obese. I recommend people to eat 70% of WRF, but Dylan's diet was probably somewhere between 1% and 10% of WRF ratio.
Several times we talked about the importance of eating right to him, but he could not understand it. He has never been outside of Kansas City where he grow up in all his life, and he could not see his any other possibilities in his mind.
When he asked our help, he was probably felt that death is on the way. My husband and I discussed and decided that we take Dylan and live with us for a while. I was thinking about how to introduce the right meal and healthy lifestyle to him when he arrives in Hawaii.
For him to travel from Kansas city to Hawaii, he needed two economy seats to fly, because of his body mass. While we are arranging his flights, we recommended him to watch the inspirational documentary movie about juicing, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" by Joe Cross. In his movie, Joe shows the power of juicing and heals his own skin rash and obesity by drinking only juice all day for 60 days. Other overweight man, Phil Staples, also lost a significant amount of weight and became the true hero of treating his obesity, diabetes, and being able to quit all his medication. This is a truly inspiring movie for those that struggle with weight loss.
Dylan watched this movie and died the very next morning.
His body simply could not take it anymore.
His body was screaming for help.
Until his death, I have thought that it is O.K. to be overweight as long as the person is happy. I believed that we should not judge people by how they look, and I also believed that those people simply have different metabolism that they cannot help gaining weight. I even thought that I cannot help people, because people do not change anyway.
I was wrong.
There may be some reasons why some people are overweight. It could be genetic. It could be caused by some disease. But, this is not the case for the majority of people. They simply do not know how to eat better, and how easy to live in a healthy lifestyle. They have not learned it yet.
Many people believe in the improper diet method. "Eat less to lose weight." This is wrong, because if you eat less food, your body will prepare for the starvation and start accumulating more fat. It will break the good metabolism cycle. That is why many people gain more weight than before they started the new diet. Once the person broke the good metabolism, he will have a hard time to lose weight again. How many of you are the victim of this wrong diet method? Believe me, it is still possible for those to lose weight and live in the healthy lifestyle, if you do the juicing reboot.
Living in Hawaii as a mother of two young children, I have a lot to say.
What are parents feeding kids at the parks? Sweet candies, chocolate, snacks with a lot of coloring and artificial flavors....? What about at the birthday party or BBQ party? Are you feeding the kids some sweet cupcakes with artificial colored toppings? Some fat chicken with antibiotics? Beef with red coloring to make it look like fresh?
What about holiday events? Easter and Halloween. Because of the advertisement battle between the major candy companies, sweet treats are the must items in every event. What about the school meal? Based on the USDA guideline, children are served meat, milk, and cheese as the major portion of lunch.
When you look at the individual food, it looks like eating meat and cheese make sense, because they are in high nutrition. However, how many people are aware of that animal based products are the number one cause of a lifestyle based in disease? The reason why USDA admits the large portion of animal based products in their food guidelines is that many of the USDA people are associated with the producers of animal based products. There is still a lawsuit pending against the USDA's connection with producers.

In the year 2008. 34% of the U.S. adult population is obese. And half of them are taking some kind of prescribed medications. Once you start one medication, you will be heavily drugged because of its side effects. This bad medication loop is also found in other countries, including Australia, China, and Japan.
After being inspired by Joe's movie, we bought a juicer and started our own juicing life. I started researching more about juicing and its effects. I was amazed that this juicing and raw food have been around years, but many of us did not even know about it. Eating whole foods or raw foods healed many people's cancer, skin rash, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
I want tell people about this amazing power of juicing and raw food diet and help people in all over the world. I also want to stop the bad western eating habits from spreading to the rest of the world. There are many goals that I want to accomplish, but today I choose to change a person's life one at at time. I hope this little change in a person's life will help change this person's friends or family, and I hope this juicing diet will spread to the rest of the world in future.
After Dylan's death, it took some time for me to build JEM Reboot. I would be very happy If one person goes through our JEM programs and becomes the successful healthy person who prospers his life.
